Focus is to help Small and Medium IT Companies from Kerala to find a market globally: K G Gireesh Babu
Dubai, October 18, 2015: “Kerala’s IT team has benefited tremendously through Gitex all the years we have participated in this event and this year we are sure will not be any different.” Said Technopark CEO, K G Gireesh Babu, to the media people, after inaugurating the Kerala IT pavilion at the Gitex Technology Week at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Mr. Gireesh Babu has led the IT delegation from Kerala to Gitex.
“We have been coming to Gitex for the past so many years and have been showcasing the various IT destinations in the State. But for the last three years, we have been bringing home grown IT companies especially in the SME sector and showcasing their innovative products and services at the same time giving them an opportunity to interact with the international players. This has reaped great benefits to these companies as they have been able to close major deals, establish their presence and expand their business opportunities – all due to participating at Gitex.”
“In return showcasing home-grown companies has also benefited Kerala IT. It is an opportunity for us to showcase to the global market the kind of innovative services that are being provided by our start-up companies and also to strengthen the SME segment in Kerala. We found this to be a successful presentation model and the fact that this year more than 30 companies have joined us from Kerala to exhibit their portfolios is a testimony to the same.” He said.
He said that the Kerala Government is taking efforts to take similar delegations to other parts of the world and international events like CeBIT Germany, Sydney, as it exposes the companies to expose them to the needs and latest technologies of the international market. He also said that while a part delegation is here in Dubai to attend the Gitex, another delegation of companies from Kerala are in Australia with the IT Secretary P H Kurian to explore the Australian market.
