IIT Delhi to host 12th TechTop National Innovation Challenge 14th to 15th July 2017 – Last date for Online Submission of Innovative Project Proposals is extended to 5th March 2017 – MIT and IIT Delhi join hands with TechTop to conduct Innovation Boot Camp and Workshop as part of the National Innovation Summit from 19 June to 15 July
The country’s pioneering Innovation Contest for engineering students – TechTop National Innovation Challenge is back again!And this time it will be held at the National Capital New Delhi hosted by the country’s pioneering technology institute Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) – Delhi from 14-15 July 2017!
Innovative project ideas from student teams of recognised engineering colleges across the country are invited. The last date to receive online applications is extended to 5th March 2017. The online application form can be accessed at www.techtop.in. The most innovative project at the Innovation Summit that addresses an important concern of the society and chosen by an expert jury will win the Rs. One Lakh TechTop cash award. The second and third prizes respectively are Rs.50,000 and Rs.30,000. A cash prize of Rs. 20,000 will be awarded to the best innovation from All Women Teams. There are two more Rs. 20,000 prizes to be won.
TechTop Innovation Summit by TechTop Charitable Trust for last eleven years had organised in addition to the annual Innovation Challenges, Innovation Boot Camps and Workshops in association with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA. This year TechTop and MIT are joining hands with IIT Delhi to conduct the MIT- IIT Innovation Boot Camp from 19 June to 15 July at IITD campus. The month long boot camp will entail sessions on Fabrication, Innovation and Entrepreneurship for diverse international student community. Students from MIT, Asia School of Business Kuala Lumpur, and other leading engineering schools and business schools from around the world will live, experiment and innovate technological solutions for India’s pressing social needs along with selected students and professionals from India. The boot camp will have mentors from MIT, TechTop, Indian Chamber of Commerce, and independent experts from various industries and other sectors.
IIT Delhi will also be the venue for the 12th National Innovation Workshop from 8-15 July where the participants of the workshop will get the opportunity to work with the boot camp participants to test their mettle in design thinking and fabricating. The workshop will take the students through the process of identifying an issue or problem, evaluating opportunities, ideation of solutions, fabrication of proof of concept, developing business strategy, and also pitching ideas to decision makers.
