Mobile 10X – Mobile App Incubation facility launched in Cyberpark by Google India Head Rajan Anandan
Kozhikode, February 7, 2018 – ‘Google is listening to the App Developer Community of Kerala and the community here are capable of addressing some of real problems that the Indian IT industry is facing.” Said Rajan Anandan, Google India MD and Vice President Southeast Asia, while inaugurating the Mobile 10X Incubation Centre in Cyberpark today. A MoU in this regard was signed by Govt. of Kerala and Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI). Kerala IT Parks CEO Hrishikesh Nair signed the MoU on behalf of Kerala Government and IAMAI CEO Jitender Singh Minhas on behalf of IAMAI. The event was graced by M Sivasankar IAS IAS, IT Secretary, Govt of Kerala; Dr. Subho Roy, President IAMAI and Saji Gopinath, CEO Kerala Start-up Mission. Mobile 10X Incubation facility has been set up in 12500 sq.ft Park Centre building of Cyberpark.

“The association of IAMAI with Kerala Startup Mission and Govt. of Kerala will enable creation of IT ecosystem in Cyberpark in Kozhikode. The objective of the incubation hub is to help entrepreneurs who are building mobile first products and services. The launch of Mobile 10X in Kerala will enable affordable access, affordable devices, local language friendly and locally relevant products and services.” He added.
Chief Minister of Kerala Shri. Pinarayi Vijayan in his web message congratulated Cyberpark on this great achievement and extended the State Government’s full support for the Mobile 10X Incubation facility in Kerala. He also urged the mobile app developer community of Kerala to develop citizen friendly apps that will initiate them into access e-governance services provided by Kerala Government.
Mobile 10X is an Indian Internet Industry backed program spearheaded by IAMAI to support app developers/app entrepreneurs to improve the quality of their apps. The Center will offer co-working, training, mentoring, design & testing labs, monetization zone, industry & investor’s connect to the Digital Start-ups of the State with structure programs enabling Cyberpark to be a Centro of Excellence in App Development.
“India today has over 425 million Internet users, 300 million mobile internet users of which 160 million are connected to Smartphones. Statistics project that the number of Internet users would increase to 650 million by 2020. Setting up of Mobile 10X in Kerala will attract large number of domestic and multi-national companies and lead to direct employment opportunities and a platform for entrepreneurs and start-up companies to explore opportunities in the global scenario.” Said M Sivasankar IAS.
Welcoming the gathering at the event, Kerala IT Parks CEO Hrishikesh Nair said, “This is a huge opportunity for the mobile app developer community of Kerala and the presence of Mobile 10X in Cyberpark is definitely going to boost and bring in a new vigour for the mobile app development sector as well as the IT industry in North Kerala.”
Apart from Cyberpark, Mobile 10X has set up start-up hubs in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Gurgaon.
